I have recently been photographing the Brighton & Hove Sea Serpents RFC for their 2027 fundraising calendar, and it is now available to pre-order.
The Sea Serpents are an inclusive rugby club for LGBTQ+ people and allies, based at Hove Recreation Ground. The calendar is a twelve-month series of solo and group portraits of the players, made to be humorous, confident and body-positive. The players have stripped back their kit, with almost everything on show, and what comes through is personality, friendship and a lot of mischief.
Every sale supports the club. In their words, each calendar sold helps keep rugby affordable and accessible, welcome new players and support the Sea Serpents family. For a club that uses sport to tackle isolation and build community, that money matters.
